The `test/common` module has the capability to identify if any variable
is leaked to the global scope and fail the test. So that has to be
imported at the beginning.

In preparation for a lint rule that will enforce
assert.deepStrictEqual() over assert.deepEqual(), change tests and
benchmarks accordingly. For tests and benchmarks that are testing or
benchmarking assert.deepEqual() itself, apply a comment to ignore the
upcoming rule.

In addition to removing unused vars, this also fixes an instance where
booleans were set presumably to check something but then never used.
This now confirms that the events that were setting the booleans are
fired.

Expose `common.refreshTmpDir()` and only call it
for tests that use common.tmpDir or common.PIPE.
A positive side effect is the removal of a code
smell where child processes were detected by the
presence of `.send()`. Now each process can decide
for itself if it needs to refresh tmpDir.

Enable linting for the test directory. A number of changes was made so
all tests conform the current rules used by lib and src directories. The
only exception for tests is that unreachable (dead) code is allowed.
test-fs-non-number-arguments-throw had to be excluded from the changes
because of a weird issue on Windows CI.

The copyright and license notice is already in the LICENSE file. There
is no justifiable reason to also require that it be included in every
file, since the individual files are not individually distributed except
as part of the entire package.
When LD_LIBRARY_PATH is overriden for custom builds we need to preserve
it for forked process. There are possibly other environment variables
that could cause test failures so we preserve whole environment of
parent process.
Allows for arbitrary path to executable spawned using `fork`. This
fixes some issues around running multiple versions of node with workers
and allows arbitrary IPC with compatible executables.
Fixes#3248.
Also, if an error is already provided, then raise the provided
error, rather than throwing it with a less helpful 'stdout cannot
be closed' message.
This is important for properly handling EPIPEs.
With -e or --eval, require() can load module using relative path.
node -e 'require("./foo")'
But it can't load module from node_modules directory.
node -e 'require("foo")'
